How to Connect Your First Data Source

4 min read

Before your AI agent can act on your data, WoEngage needs a live connection to it. From your dashboard, open Data Sources and select Add Connection to choose between a SQL database, a NoSQL database, or a CSV upload.

For SQL and NoSQL sources, you'll provide a host, port, database name, and credentials scoped to a read-only user where possible. WoEngage never modifies your source data — it only reads from it to power engagement decisions.

Once your credentials are entered, run Test Connection to confirm WoEngage can reach your data source. A successful test will automatically start a lightweight schema scan so the AI agent understands your tables and fields.

CSV sources skip the credentials step entirely — just upload a file and WoEngage will infer column types automatically. You can always replace or refresh the file later from the same Data Sources screen.
