Fixing Failed Data Source Connections

5 min read

The most common cause of a failed connection test is network access: if your data source sits behind a firewall or VPC, you'll need to allowlist WoEngage's outbound IP addresses, listed on the Data Sources setup screen.

The second most common cause is credentials — double-check that the username and password are correct and that the user has at least read access to the schema you're trying to connect.

If the test fails with a timeout rather than an authentication error, that almost always points to a network or port issue rather than a credentials issue.

Still stuck? Open the connection's Diagnostics tab for the exact error returned by your data source, or reach out through Customer Support with that error message for a faster resolution.
